About E-Conclave

As the COVID19 pandemic rages on in most of the countries in the world and leaders move to take protective measures, there is a concern that things will never be the same. With the current situation and changing dynamics, it's extremely important for all stakeholders to know the kind of skill set that is required for the future workforce.

To prepare the leaders of tomorrow, SIIB brings to you E-Conclave, a two-day business summit on the theme- "Future of Work Post Pandemic". The event aims to bring different elements of business acumen to a single platform through exciting events in the domains of Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Agribusiness and, Energy & Environment. The discussion would aim to cover issues such as The impact on Indian Diplomacy due to pandemic, the kind of skill set required for the future workforce, and the Practices to be adopted by a B-school in terms of the Teaching-learning process providing the students an overview of the corporate life: “The New Normal”.

Countries are grappling with historically high unemployment rates as stay-at-home-orders have upended livelihoods. The future of how societies function and the work culture that we are all familiar with, is uncertain and subject to rapid transformation. The situation calls for hope, resilience, and an understanding of what the future holds for us.

Future of work Post Pandemic - Indian Diplomacy

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began, governments around the world are hard-pressed and working tirelessly to come out of the crisis as early as possible to avoid longer disruption of economic lockdown. A new reality is emerging fast on the horizon of world politics and power, where India is poised to take the centre stage. Through not only maintaining effective foreign relations but also identifying potential industries in itself in order to become self-reliant, India has the opportunity to emerge as a leader in the new world order.

Ambassador (Retd.) Gautam Bambawale

Ambassador (Retd) Gautam Bambawale was a member of the Indian Foreign Service from 1984 to 2018. He was Director of the Indian Cultural Centre, Berlin 1994-98. Ambassador Bambawale worked in the Prime Minister’s Office 2002-04. At the Ministry of External Affairs, he was Joint Secretary for East Asia from 2009-2014. Ambassador Bambawale has dealt with China for 15 years of his 34-year diplomatic career. He is currently a distinguished professor, faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Symbiosis International University, Pune.

Ambassador (Retd.) Talmiz Ahmad

Talmiz Ahmad joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1974. He had a long stint in West Asia early in his career, being posted in Kuwait, Baghdad, and Sanaa, and then as Consul General in Jeddah. He also served in Indian Missions in New York, London and Pretoria. He returned to India in 2017 and is now a full-time academic: Mr. Ahmad holds the Ram Sathe Chair for International Studies in Symbiosis International University, Pune, India. He also writes and speaks on the politics and economics of West Asia, Eurasia, and the Indian Ocean, political Islam, and energy security issues. Mr. Ahmad has published three books on West Asian politics so far.

Dr. Juergen Morhard

Dr. Juergen Morhard has been serving as the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mumbai since July 2016. His love for India and the potential of furthering Indo-German ties convinced Dr. Morhard to stay back in India. The diplomat brings with him an array of credentials: after having completed his doctorate in International Relations, Dr. Morhard served in important positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin and Bonn and held office in Washington DC, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Africa, besides being posted as German Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused major disruption to our working lives in the short term and is likely to change the way that we work in the long term. As nations emerge on the other side of this pandemic and jobs return, they have a collective responsibility to ensure future job creation supports ‘good work’. As people adapt to the “new normal”, upskilling ourselves will be key in order to survive in these changing times.

Mr. Jivesh Govil

Mr. Jivesh Govil is a seasoned operations leader with a demonstrated ability to execute the vision until the end, building and scaling up high performing teams, and using innovative and transformative strategies to fully execute complex programs in the organization. With over 13 years of experience in multiple operations roles across the globe, he has addressed employees, forums, and published extensively with a desire to invest in talent in youth to make this world a better place. He has an MBA from Cornell University, MS from the University of Michigan, and BE from University of Delhi and actively believes in inclusion and diversity.

Dr. Abhay Sinha

Dr. Abhay Sinha is currently working as the Regional Director in Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council, an organization set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India. Having experience of 18 years in the promotion of international trade, market research, and international trade information services, he has been associated with various projects of Export Promotion Councils, UNCTAD, APEDA, and Coir Board while working with National Centre for Trade Information-a joint venture of ITPO and NIC under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. His academic qualifications include Ph.D., MBA with specialization in Marketing, and a Masters in International Trade.

Mr. Ashish Chhabra

Mr. Chhabra is a Seasoned Risk Management Banking professional with over 15 years of working experience. Currently, he is working with Credit Specialist, Global Emerging Markets Fixed Income and Currencies, Investment Banking division of Deutsche Bank. He is responsible for heading front office credit risk management and credit solutions for Derivatives business covering APAC, CEEMEA & LATAM regions. Mr. Chhabra’s areas of expertise involve in-depth fundamental credit analysis, structuring, documentation, risk appetite decision, risk distribution, portfolio monitoring as well as closeout, workout & recovery in case of stress/default situations. Prior to this, he was a credit risk officer responsible for credit risk management for the Deutsche Bank India portfolio covering large corporate & financial institutions.

When the Covid-19 pandemic subsides, the world is going to look markedly different. The supply and demand shock that followed as global economies shut down exposed vulnerabilities in the production strategies and supply chains of firms just about everywhere. As a consequence of all this, manufacturers worldwide will have to increase their domestic production, reduce or even eliminate their dependence on sources that are perceived as risky, and consider minimizing the amount of inventory held in their global supply chains.

Mr. Praveen Wagh

Mr. Praveen Wagh is the General manager at Reliance Retail. He is based in Mumbai. Mr. Wagh has a distinguished career spanning over 15 years in the supply chain for corporations like Mcdonald's and Cafe Coffee Day. He has done his PGD in supply chain management from Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune. He is an active member of the development of G4 guidelines at the Global Reporting Initiative,(GRI) in the Netherlands. He is also a part of the Standards Committee for the development of AA1000SES standard at AccountAbility and is also associated with the Technical committee constituted by SEBI for Social Stock Exchange, India (2020).

Mr. Arvind Bodhankar

Mr. Arvind is an Industry professional with 31 years of experience in Fertilizers, Petrochemicals, Steel, Cement, Shipping, Glass, FMCG, Pharma, and Automobile sector in National and Multinational Environment. Currently, working as a Jr. Executive President & Chief Sustainability Officer at UltraTechCement Ltd. (An Aditya Birla Group Company). He has also double hatted functions like Business Continuity Management, HR, Business Excellence, Projects, etc. and is an Environmental Engineer with Post graduation in Industrial safety and an MBA in Marketing. He has 25 research papers/publications to his credit. Mr. Arvind is a member of the Director on the Board of National Safety Council India, Director on the Board of Global Cement & Concrete Association - India, Director on the Board of Society of Safety Health Environment & Sustainability Professionals (SHESPRO) and is an advisory council member at We Mean Business (WMB).
